Interview to "Breathing the Core" webzine
Last week we gave an interview on "Breathing the Core" webzine. You can read it below:
Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It came as an instant thought. We wanted that our band name reflects our lyrics direction. Mind Terrorist is our statement in an era of lies, distorted realities and moral decay. It’s a statement of freedom of thought.
Why did you want to play this genre?
It is the music we grew up with. Basically, there are different musical “forces” inside the group and we are finding a good balance between what we listen to and how we want to express ourselves.
Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, all of us played in different bands, we know each other from projects we were running together, furthermore, we are living in the same city for a long time.
Each band member favorite band?
Kostas: As I Lay Dying
Zach: Hate Eternal
Orestes: Dark Funeral
Thanos: Carpathian Forest
Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We are inspired from the social, political and environmental situation around us. Moreover, from personal matters and finally by our current influences music wise.
Where was your last gig?
It was in our hometown, Larissa, Greece, as an opening act for Warel Dane of Nevermore.
Where would you like to act?
If you mean the live gigs, we would love to play at some point to USA. Probably to combine it with a good touring experience.
Whom would you like to feature with?
Any band who plays from their heart, we don’t have special remarks or demands.
Arrogant musicians, people who are hard to approach and they have a big ego.
Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Well, I remember my first concert, I was stressed like hell, trying to calm down and trigger my adrenaline. Even small or big concert, it didn’t matter at that moment. It’s a reasonable fear I must say, as long as it is creative. From a point and on this anxiety can really prevent someone from enjoying something that first of all is fun. My advice to musicians with such fears is to take time just before their stage performance, and do things they fulfill them. Concentration exercises, listen to favourite music songs to relax, find quite place and have a drink (not too much please!).
What bands have inspired you the most?
A variety of bands from different genres. But mostly from 80’s and 90’s. From the courage and persistence of Iron Maiden to stay on top, to the crossover stubbornness of Slipknot :)
What do you think of your fans?
We are thankful for their support, otherwise we would never be able to reach releasing four albums. We would still like to be able to produce good music for them.
What do you think of our site?
Breaking the Core is a great webzine! Easy to read, relevant info, clear music direction. I really liked the compilation initiative that you had for this good cause related to the ongoing situation in Australia. Spot on and it’s what metal music is meant for.
Something to add?
Thank you so much for this opportunity. Keep up the good work with promoting the music you love and stay heavy.
